The Story Behind Chronicles
The vision of Chronicles was birthed in the Autumn of 2022. Little did we know then that on the 7th October 2023, war would break out in Israel. Chronicles is co-founded by Deborah Paul and Emily Emanuel, who were both in the land at the outbreak of the war for Emily’s wedding. In the midst of tragedy and heartbreak for many, the wedding went ahead, reminding us all that beauty can indeed come from ashes.
The vision is simple, yet deeply profound, considering the times we are living in. Over a seven year period, starting in September 2024 and culminating in 2030, we believe God is inviting us to actively build bridges and serve broken communities through yearly worship and prayer events.
We believe that year upon year, Chronicles will grow, with more worshippers joining this movement.
Emily and Deborah each have a heart for reconciliation and have travelled extensively through Israel and The Palestinian Territories. They are both involved with Israeli non-profits that invest in bridge building within the communities on the ground. Emily has lead numerous tours in the region and has a heart to share the story of Israel with a younger generation. She carries an incredible knowledge and wisdom of the land and the complexities involved on all sides.
In 2018, Deborah founded Music on the Wind, a music movement that took a small group of musicians to play the same music on both sides of the separation wall between Israel and The Palestinian Territories. She witnessed firsthand the power that music has to transform lives. She was also involved in opening a prayer room in Bethlehem in 2019. Her desire to serve both sides and to build bridges within communities is a driving passion.
We invite you to join us.
